The Importance Of Data Visualization
The Importance Of Data Visualization
Data visualization is the graphical representation of data or information in a graph, chart or other visual format. By using these visual elements like charts, graphs and maps, the data visualization tools provide an accessible way to see and understand the trends, outliers and patterns in the data.
Data visualization communicates the relationships of the data with images. This process is important because it allows the trends and patterns to be more easily seen. Data visualization refers to the techniques used to communicate data or information by encoding it as visual objects (e.g., points, lines or bars) contained in graphics.
The main goal of Data Visualization is to distill the large datasets into visual graphics to allow for the easy understanding of complex relationships within the data. And also to communicate the information clearly and efficiently to the users. Data visualization uses statistical graphics, plots, information graphics and other tools to communicate.
Numerical data can be encoded using dots, lines or bars, to visually communicate a quantitative message. The effective visualization helps the users to analyze and reason about the data and the evidence. It makes the complex data more ccessible, understandable and usable.
In Data Visualization, Tables are generally used where the users will look up a specific measurement, and various types of charts are used to show patterns or relationships in the data for one or more variables.
The Data visualization is both an art and a science as it is viewed as a branch of descriptive statistics by some and also as a grounded theory development tool by others. The increased amounts of data created by the Internet activity and an expanding number of sensors in the environment are referred to as “big data” or Internet of things.
Generally, there are 2 basic types of data visualization, One is and the other is explanation. The exploration is which helps find a story the data is telling you, and the explanation is which tells a story to an audience. The both types of data visualization must take into account the audience’s expectations.
Data visualization is closely related to the information graphics, information visualization, scientific visualization, exploratory data analysis and statistical graphics. In today’s world, the data visualization has become an active area of research, teaching and development.
